The lesson focuses on why voting is important. Ready to go and fully adaptable! Includes fully differentiated Lesson Objectives/Outcomes based on Bloom’s Taxonomy; allowing students to take charge of their learning by focusing on what they want to achieve by the end of the lesson. Includes, a mock vote activity, politician match-up activity, where students learn who all the main UK politicians are and what they do. Understand key UK political buildings, and a HMWK activity, which can be used to form a display. As students, enter the classroom, there is a ‘Entrance Ticket’ Activity/DO IT NOW! This worksheet allows students to begin to build up knowledge of who they are and what parties they belong to, what they stand for and what their logo means and represents. Students cut out the answers and glue them in the correct box. Also, included, is and extension task, taking the format of thinking hats. Positive, negative, justification and reactions. This allows students to reflect and assess their knowledge of what they have learnt during this task.
